Great Horned Owl

Out on Antelope Island, near the Garr Ranch, there are a pair of Great Horned Owls.  They do a really good job of hiding in the trees.  Yesterday, we managed to get in a couple of shots.  If you look closely, you can see the second owl in the last shot.

Images were taken with the Canon 1D Mk IV and the Canon 400mm f/4.0 DO IS lens.

Bald Eagles

Spent the morning with some of the folks from the photographix club out at Farmington Bay shooting the Bald Eagles.  It was a whole lot of fun, even if I didn't get the best results.

Art Supplies

While in Chicago for work this week, I took the opportunity to go out for a walk with my nifty fifty.  I walked for a while, and the longer I walked, the colder it got.  I was headed back to my hotel, freezing my ISO off, and decided to stop in an art supply store to warm up a bit before I walked the last few blocks.  Turns out I could have spent several hours there.
