Ball Pit and Backlight

While monkeying around with the kids and the camera this afternoon, we buried a couple of flashes in the ball pit.  The back-lit images turned out pretty interesting.  I think I actually prefer the black and white versions.

Images were created using the Canon 5D Mk II, Canon 100mm f/2.8 Macro, Lumopro LP160 speedlights, Radiopopper wireless triggers.

Light Painting

I went and did a little light painting last night with Doug, Rusty, Whit, and Sarah.  We found a new spot to try, a tunnel under I-80.  It turned out to be a pretty slick spot.  The square tunnel made a nice frame for the circle of the spinning of the sparks.  In addition, about half of the tunnel had water in it so it made for some good reflections.  Despite the fact that it was a bit chilly, we had a great time and came home with some decent images.

Browning-Kimball Car Museum

While at Union Station last week, I spent a few minutes in the car museum.  This was the first time I have been in the museum.  In fact, I don't know that I knew it was even there.  The museum isn't very big, but housed some pretty fantastic cars.  The lighting was terrible and I didn't have my tripod, so I got in a few shots using my flash and off-camera cable.  I'd like to go back with my tripod and spend a little more time with these cars.
