Bullwinkle

Over Labor Day weekend, we spent  couple of days in Grand Tetons National Park.  We weren't there long, but did manage to get in a hike and some wildlife before the rain settled in.  This guy was hanging out along the Snake River, enjoying the willows.  The two images were taken several hours apart, the first at around 2 in the afternoon, the second at around 7:30, after the sun had dropped below the horizon.

Well, Halloween is right around the corner.  Time to get in the mood.

Macro

Last week, I had the opportunity to play around with the Canon MP-E65 Macro lens.  If you aren't familiar with this lens, you should check it out.  It allows you to achieve up to 5x life size.  It's a lot of fun to take a deep look at ordinary objects.  When shooting with a lens like this, you need a good solid tripod, and a good amount of light.  I was using the Canon MT-24 EX twin light.  

These were all shot at 1/200 Sec - f/16 - ISO 100 - 65mm.  Some have been cropped, but only in one direction for improved composition.
