Hummers

We've got a hummingbird feeder that sits right outside my office window.  It makes for a good distraction through endless conference calls.  Over the last week or so, I've taken a few opportunities to set up a camera on my front porch so that I can grab some images.  Because I don't have the time to just sit with the camera and watch, I connected the camera via WiFi to my computer and then was able to watch an fire the camera while working.  After the first round of images, I added a couple of speedlites to the mix to better highlight the birds.  I've got the setup pretty dialed in at this point, and I like the results I'm getting.  Here's some of my favorites.  Enjoy! 

Wild Horses

Utah is home to several herds of wild horses.  The other day, we decided to take a wander to see if we could find some.  We were successful.

Daisy

The other day, I took the opportunity to spend a few minutes with some daisies that we bought to add to the flower beds.  They were still hanging out on the back patio, so it was a good opportunity to grab some images in some nice lighting.

The two images above were shot with the Canon EOS R and the Canon EF 180mm Macro lens.  For the next two images, I switched to the EOS RP so that I could take advantage of a feature called Focus Bracketing.  With this feature, the camera shifts the focus deeper and deeper into the image as it takes multiple images.  Those individual images are then stacked in software to give you an image with sharp detail front to back.  Take the time to click on the images and explore the details.
