This weekend, I had the opportunity to join my son on an overnight camping trip with the scouts. We had a great time, and enjoyed clear skies. Of course, I had to take advantage of the situation and shoot some star trails.
I came home with two images, both captured at the same time, but with two different methods.
This first image was captured over two hours with the Canon PowerShot G7x using the star trails feature. It is a series of 30 second exposures, stacked in camera. I tweaked the final image in Lightroom.
This image was created from a series of images captured over three hours, using the Canon 5D Mk III. The images were stacked in PhotoShop and then the final image was tweaked in Lightroom.
