Abstracts

The other day, I I snagged a couple of daisies out of the flowers I got my wife for Valentines Day and played around with my macro lens, some speedlights and some black glass.  I ended up with some good images that I'll post later.  A few day later, I was playing around in Photoshop and came up with some abstract versions of some of the images.

Antelope Island

The other day, I met some friends that were here from California and took them out to Antelope Island to see what we could see.  This warm weather is wreaking havoc on our normal winter wildlife.

Oil and Water

The other day I revived an old project I hadn't done for a good long while.  A little oil and water, a couple of speed lights, some colored gels, a tripod, and a macro lens, and you end up with a ton of unique and interesting images.  Here's a handful of my favorites.

And, just in case you wondered, here's the setup.

A Bit of Nashville

The other week, I was in Nashville for work.  While there, I had the opportunity to head out with a couple of friends to do a bit of shooting around downtown.  It was a chilly night, but we had a great time and came home with some good shots.

A Little Painting In Nashville

While in Nashville last week for work, we stayed at the Opryland Resort.  One of the nights, I took the opportunity to do a little light painting in the atriums at the resort.  There were a lot of great places and it was a fun challenge to try and balance out the light.

More From Bear River

While visiting Bear River the other day, I had my G1X Mk II with and used it to grab some landscape shots.  I'm always impressed with the results that camera will produce!

Bear River

The other morning, I took a wander out to the Bear River Migratory Bird Refuge to see what there was to see.  Though we had been enjoying pretty nice weather, this morning turned out to be overcast and a bit rainy.  There wasn't a ton going on, but I did see a few herons, some hawks, lots of red winged blacked birds and about a bazillion swans.  The light wasn't fantastic and the birds were content to hang out far out on the water, so the photo ops weren't fantastic, but it was still fun to get out.
