Yellowstone - Round Two

Here's the second round of images from our quick trip through Yellowstone.  These were shot in IR and processed and converted to black and white.

A Quick Trip To Yellowstone

A couple of weeks ago, I had to take a quick trip up to Yellowstone.  Pete came with me and we made a couple of stops on our way out of the park.  It's been a few years since I've there, I need to go back.

Niagara Falls

Earlier this week, I happened to be in Buffalo for work.  While there, I managed to get to spend a couple of days with my sister.  On one of those days, we took a quick trip into Canada to check out Niagara Falls.  If you ever find yourself in the area, you should really take the time to stop by, the falls are pretty amazing.

Saguaro National Park

While in Tucson, I had the opportunity to spend a short bit of time in Saguaro National Park.  It's always good to check off another park, and this one was pretty unique. 

Death Valley

The other week, I was in Las Vegas for work and had the opportunity to make a quick trip out to Death Valley.  We only had a couple of hours in the park, but it was well worth the drive.

Layers

Not much to say about this one, other than I really love how it turned out.

Moulton Barn

A couple of weeks ago, we spent a quick couple of days in Grand Tetons National Park.  For photographers, the Moulton Barn is one of the most well-know spots in the park.  Some say it is the most photographed barn in the country.  Well, we were camped not far from the barn, so I got up early in hopes of catching my version of the iconic Moulton Barn image.  We woke up to overcast skies and a bit of rain and, unfortunately, we never got the sunrise light on the Tetons.  In fact, it was starting to look like the low clouds were going to keep the Tetons completely covered.  As we were about ready to head out, the clouds started to break against the mountain and I grabbed this image.  Well, actually three images, as this is an HDR composite.  I also worked some magic in Lightroom and CS5 to get the results I was looking for.  Though it isn't what I had planned going into the shoot, I'm happy with the results.

Bullwinkle

Over Labor Day weekend, we spent  couple of days in Grand Tetons National Park.  We weren't there long, but did manage to get in a hike and some wildlife before the rain settled in.  This guy was hanging out along the Snake River, enjoying the willows.  The two images were taken several hours apart, the first at around 2 in the afternoon, the second at around 7:30, after the sun had dropped below the horizon.

A few More Of George

I think that it is next to impossible to visit Washington DC without getting a few images of the Washington Monument.  I've shot this monument before, and I'm sure I'll shoot it again.
