A Bit of Macro

I've had the Canon MP-e65 lens in my possession lately and finally got around to shooting with it the other day before having to send it on its way.  Can you guess what these are?  You can check your answers at the bottom of the post.

Pencil shavings, the pages of a dictionary, the edge of a roll of toilet paper, the cloth of a curtain, a dish scrubbing pad, a brush for cleaning out reusable straws, the tip of a sharpie marker.

Creeper

The kids found this guy in the yard the other day, so we brought him inside to shoot his portrait.

A Little Bit of Little Stuff

Over the last week or so, I've been playing around with the Canon MP-E65 Macro lens.  If you ever get the chance to shoot with this lens, don't pass it up, it is a whole bucket of fun to shoot with.  The spider and the katydid were both living when I shot them.  The flies and the moth had met their demise prior to our time together.

I played around with the MP-E65 Macro lens today.  Always a good time.

A Few Of The Locals

One thing I've discovered about our new home is that we have a good collection of bugs.  Lots and lots of bugs.  I happen to have access to the Canon MP-E65 lens right now which allows me to get in really close.  Oh man this is a lot of fun.

It's a Small World

Recently, a friend of mine asked if I'd be willing to help her out with something she needed for a project she was working on for an internship she is doing as a part of her master's degree.  Turns out she needed some macro images.  So, I got out the Canon MP-E 65 Macro lens and my 5D Mk III and went to work.  For each item, I shot one image at 5x life, and one at 1x life.
