The Milky Way

Last week, I had the chance to get out and shoot with the Ogden Camera Club.  We had a great time, and finished the evening shooting the Milky Way.  As you can see, it was a perfect opportunity.

This last shot isn't mine.  It belongs to my son, Pete.

A Little Painting with the Ogden Camera Club

Last weekend, I headed out to the Spiral Jetty with the Ogden Camera Club.  The point of the excursion was to shoot the sunset, do a little light painting, and shoot the Milk Way.  I did the painting while my friends Doug and Rusty helped everyone with settings and techniques.  We had a lot of fun and came away with some great images.  Because there were about 25 people getting the same shots, I decided to go a little overboard with the processing on these.

Here's part of the group getting set up to shoot.  It was a lot of fun to shoot with old and new friends.

Stay tuned, I'll post Milky Way images soon.  You don't want to miss them, they are pretty fantastic!

Ogden Valley Balloon Festival - Round 1

This past weekend was the Ogden Valley Balloon Festival.  I managed to make it out for two of the three morning launches.  As always, it is a lot of fun to shoot these balloons.  There is an endless supply of shots to be made.  The added benefit of this festival is the location.

A Few Bucks

The other night, I took a drive with a couple of my kids out to Antelope Island.  We happened to come across a few mule deer.  It's fun to see the bucks this time of year while they are still in the velvet and still getting along.

Yup, seven of them.

Check out the a-typical rack on the guy on the right.
