Balloons in Black and White

I spent the last week in Albuquerque, working at the Balloon Fiesta.  I took along my IR camera, just for the sake of trying something a little different.  I've gotta say, it was a lot of fun shooting with it and the black and white images are pretty cool.

Some Fun With Infrared

The other day, I had the opportunity to play around with an IR converted EOS 5D Mk II.  It is pretty fascinating and definitely a learning curve.  These have all been edited for contrast, highlights, and shadows.  Color and white balance have not been touched.  Pretty interesting stuff.

A Little IR Work

Last week, while waiting for the solar eclipse, I had the opportunity to spend a bit of time with my buddy's IR converted Canon 20D.  This was the first time I had shot IR, though I've seen some pretty spectacular work.  It is definitely a different process and doesn't work on every subject.  Here are a few of my favorites.
