This morning, I went shooting (the other kind) with some friends. We hauled a pile of melons and squashes with us for something to shoot at. I figured it was a good opportunity to do some of the other kind of shooting.

Star Trails
This weekend, I had the opportunity to join my son on an overnight camping trip with the scouts. We had a great time, and enjoyed clear skies. Of course, I had to take advantage of the situation and shoot some star trails.
I came home with two images, both captured at the same time, but with two different methods.
This first image was captured over two hours with the Canon PowerShot G7x using the star trails feature. It is a series of 30 second exposures, stacked in camera. I tweaked the final image in Lightroom.
This image was created from a series of images captured over three hours, using the Canon 5D Mk III. The images were stacked in PhotoShop and then the final image was tweaked in Lightroom.

Tribute In Lights
On September 11th, while in NYC for work, I had the opportunity to photograph the Tribute in Lights with a group of friends. It was an absolutely fantastic evening and I came home with some great images. By the way, you should click on these to view them a little larger, it's worth it.

A Few From The Fair
Last night we made a trip to the State Fair. I wasn't there to shoot, but grabbed a few shots as we wandered. I kinda liked these in black and white.
