Wouldn't be Christmas without destroying some ornaments, right?

Montana Stars
Despite the nearly full moon, I was able to set up a camera almost every night to capture the night sky. I'm pretty sure there's not much better than a night under the stars.

Montana Stamp Mill
Something new we checked out on this trip. This is an old stamp mill that was used to crush the ore that was removed from the nearby Ajax mine. Near as we can tell, it was built in the late 1800's or early 1900's. The wooden parts were milled from trees cut on site, the iron parts were hauled in from Chicago and Los Angeles. Pretty mind boggling to think about what it took to build and run this in such a remote place!
