Balloons

A few weeks ago, I had the opportunity to head to the Sandy, UT Hot Air Balloon Festival.  Balloon launches are always a lot of fun to shoot, there's plenty of great images to be made.  This time, I decided a little time lapse was in order.

Bonsai

While in Washington DC, we spent a morning at the National Arboretum.  If you are ever in the area, it is well worth your time to stop.  One of the features at the arboretum is a Bonsai museum.  It is pretty amazing to see these trees and realize that some of them are several hundred years old.  The oldest is from 1625.  As I wandered and shot, I was intrigued by the shape and form of the trees.  The contrast of the natural curves of the trees against the angles and lines of the containers was fascinating.  As I was wandered and shot these fascinating trees, I realized that converting these to black and white would really make these stand out.

Light Painting in Washington DC

I spent some time photographing Washington DC recently with some good friends.  Of course, I had to get in a little light painting!  Now, I need to go back.  There are a bunch of places that I'd like to do a little more of this.
