Oil and Water - Round Two

I spent some time this afternoon with a couple of good friends, mixing oil with water.  It's true that oil and water don't mix, but they sure can make for some interesting images.  One of the best parts about images like this is that they are different every time and this time is no exception. From the progression of the images, you can see that I added more and more oil to the mix as I went along.  In the last few images, there was a good, thick layer of oil with small watter drops on top and some bubbles underneath.

These images were created using the Canon 5D Mk II, the Canon 100mm Macro with a Kenko extension tube, a Lumipro LP160 speedlight fired by a pair of Radiopoppers, cable release, Manfrotto tripod, and my beanbag from thevestguy.com.

  1. There is a planetary, sci-fi feel to them. Or it is as if they are biological - like shots from a medical procedure. Very nice.
