I was able to get in one more round of high speed shooting the other day with Doug, Rusty, and Pete. This time, we added some firecrackers to the mix.

The Jupiter
Every year, for three days between Christmas and New Years, The Golden Spike National Monument hosts their annual Steam Festival. During these three days, they bring out one of the engines and do a number of demonstration runs throughout each day. Because it is cold out, the steam from the engines can be very dramatic. Every year, I look forward to making the trip out to catch one of the demonstrations. This year, it was the Jupiter's turn. Since I've shot this event numerous times, I decided that I would take the opportunity to shot this one primarily with my infrared camera. I'm glad I did, it made for some really great black and white images.

Holiday Cheer
Its that time of year again, time to destroy some Christmas ornaments and figurines in the name of some holiday cheer and Sunday was the day for some fun with a couple of friends.
For part of the shoot, I had a second camera set up, shooting through my crystal ball. It's cool to see both views of each image.
Just in case you wondered what would happen with a snow globe.
Yeah, I know, this is a monkey, not a Christmas figurine, but look how hpaay he is!

A Few Birds
Yesterday, I took a wander in search of some birds to shoot. It proved to be a pretty quiet morning, though I did come home with a few good images.
