While in New York with Sam, we spent a day at "The Met", The Metropolitan Museum of Art. It was a little bit overwhelming to see so much amazing work all in one place. In hindsight, it would be a better experience to spend several partial days there instead of trying to cram as much as we could into one day. It was pretty fascinating to see the wide variety of artwork from around the world, some pretty new, some thousands of years old. I especially enjoyed getting to see some pieces of art in person that I've seen in books, magazines, etc. for years. It is definitely a different experience to see these works in person. Washington Crossing The Delaware was huge. The textures in Van Gogh's work was absolutely fascinating and added so much to depth to his works.
