While in Montana, we spent some time poking around the ghost town of Coolidge. Coolidge was a mining town, located near the Elkhorn silver mine. It got its start around 1918-1919 and was gone by the early 1930's. At its peak, there were about 350 residents. This is tough country, located high in the Pioneer mountains. It was pretty fascinating to poke around the buildings, speculating what life must have been like and how tough the people must have been that called Coolidge home.
