Wetlands In The Morning Light

I spent a couple of hours this morning out at Farmington Bay with the intent to shoot some Bald Eagles.  Contrary to last year, there weren't a lot of Eagles to be found, though I did get a few decent shots.  I did take advantage of the opportunity to make a few images of the grasses in the early morning light.  The first four images were created using an 800mm lens.  I love how the lens compressed the images and made them more about color and texture than about the grasses.  The morning light really enhanced the rich colors of the grasses.

The first four images were created using the Canon 1D Mk IV and the Canon 800mm f/5.6L IS lens.

The last two images were created using the Canon 40D and the Canon 70-200mm f/2.8L IS lens.

  1. We were out at Farmington bay about three weeks ago...no eagles then either. Still a beautiful photo shoot location.
