Part 4. More goodness from Alaska.
We spent a bit of time in the totem carving center at Saxman Village. I could have spent hours there photographing the details. It is a fascinating place.
These hand drawn plans for the totem poles are phenomenal!
This is Nathan Jackson, he's a master carver and well known for his work.
It was awesome talking to him for a few minutes and listening to his stories.
I could have spent hours with him.
Every totem pole tells a story. If you visit one of the totem parks in Ketchikan, find a guidebook, or better yet, find a guide. The stories are worth it.
This is the Seward Shame pole. It's a good story.
The most famous sign in Ketchikan!
There are buses everywhere. So many people to be moved around.
This one happens to be driven by my favorite bus driver! It was fun to see Sam at work.
This is Mahoney Falls. The scale of this is hard to tell. They are huge!
Lower Mahoney Lake. Absolutely beautiful!
This was fun!
