Alaska - Part 2

 Round 2 from Ketchikan.  Enjoy.

This guy stands on the deck at the Silver King Lodge.  He's pretty cool.

Even from this view.

The texture on these red cedar trees is pretty fantastic.

I asked our guide what was creating these holes.  She said they don't know.  Pretty impressive work.

This is a banana slug.  There are a lot of them.  Don't touch them.

Mushrooms growing everywhere.

I'd imagine that this guy sits a little differently when it isn't low tide.

The tide line at the bottom of the trees is pretty fascinating.

That's Sam's friend Trevin driving the boat.

If you drive to the north end of the road, you come to Settler's Cove.  If you go for a walk down the path that leaves the parking lot, you will come to these falls.

Creek Street.  The most famous street in Ketchikan.

A reminder of what Creek Street was known for a few decades ago.

These guys are everywhere.

While out fishing, a pod of orcas showed up.  12-14 of them.  They hung out near us for about an hour and a half.  Killed the fishing, but it was a cool experience.
