Capitol Columns

While planning the trip to DC, we received multiple recommendations to visit the National Arboretum.  From what we were told, we wouldn't regret going there.  Well, they were right.  It must be a well kept secret, because there weren't a lot of people there.  And, from the looks of things, most of the people that were there were locals enjoying the open spaces.  Anyway, Tucked away in the Arboretum are these columns.  These aren't just any columns, they once stood as part of the US Capitol building.  They were removed and replaced because they weren't big enough.  Eventually, they found their way here.  The reflecting pond is a nice addition, allowing for some cool images.  If you're ever in Washington DC and need something to do, take some time to visit the National Arboretum, you won't regret it.
