United States Capital Building

While visiting Washington DC, we spent a few minutes making photographs of the US Capital Building.  Like a lot of the iconic buildings in DC, it was a challenge to find unique compositions and not just the same old images that can be found by the thousands with a quick Google search.  Well, I'm not sure how well I accomplished that goal, but here's a few that I liked.

This last image is my favorite from the group.  While working on it in Lightroom, it just begged to be converted to black and white.  So, into CS5 it went for a little work with Topaz B&W Effects.

  1. Your images, as always, are excellent! I just returned from DC and probably tended toward the more usual images you mention, although I hope a bit better. As for me, I like your image of the lone woman with the umbrella the best (image #3 in this post).

  2. Just returned from DC myself and these are just great. I probably tended to take the usual images you mentioned, although I hope a little better than average. As for me, I like your image of the lone woman with the umbrella the best (image #3 in this post. Thanks for sharing.

  3. Thanks, Al! I appreciate your kind words. I'd love to see the images you made in DC. I took a look at your blog and really enjoyed your images from Italy. Some day I'll make it there :o)
