The 119

Every year, the Golden Spike National Monument holds Steam Fest over the last weekend of the year.  During Steam Fest, they do multiple demonstrations with the steam engines that are replicas of the Jupiter and the 119, the engines that were there for the driving of the golden spike.  Because of the cold weather, the steam really stands out.  It is well worth the trip to see.  For the last couple of years, my son and I have headed out to enjoy the trains.

  2. Thanks! I agree, it just doesn't feel like it's all their. Apparently they took it off for some refurb work and didn't get it done in time. Oh well, there's always next year.
