Not Quite Right

So, I took this image on a recent wander in the Uinta Mountains. I like the image and the concept, but this one just isn't qite right. I'm not 100% sure what I'd do differently, but I think I could have done a better job framing the road and perhaps a little lower point of view would have helped. I'll be back in this area in a few days, so I'll definitely do a reshoot.

  2. I didn't see you post a re-shoot; did you get back out there?

I agree that something's not quite right. Though the more I look at it, the more right it seems. I love the colors and the lines of the trees and shadows. I'm wondering if a sharper angle on the road would look better? To contrast with the straightness of the trees.

Or maybe rethink your focus. Right now my eyes are drawn to the blue space. Then I see the road, which you have straight edge lined up, but off-center. Though the curve of the road is center photo.

I hope you were able to re-shoot it to your liking!

  3. Hi Megan -

I did get back to this area, but didn't make it back a far as this spot so no re-shoot. You make some very valid points. I have also decided that the dark shadow area in the back is an issue. I think there are several thing s that could make this good (in my opinion) image into a great image. Gives me a good excuse to get back out there again.

Thanks for taking the time to comment.
